About this study

This study explores how first-generation college students enrolled in online degree programs at private universities use the Wysa app to cope with academic stress. Eligible participants must be at least 18 years old, be first-generation college students, currently attend an online private university in the United States, and be able to read and speak English sufficiently to use a mobile app and complete an interview. Participants will complete a short online demographic questionnaire, use the Wysa mental health support app for two weeks, and participate in a 30 to 45-minute interview through Zoom or telephone. The total time commitment is approximately two to three hours across the two-week study period. Participation is voluntary and unpaid. This study has been approved by the National University Institutional Review Board.
